The Thought
Before work was confined to offices, houses accommodated many parts of the working day. Letters were written, company received, ideas exchanged and business conducted around shared tables. Rooms changed purpose as the day required.
22JS was founded on that same principle. Set within a period townhouse on a quiet Bloomsbury street, it brings together a variety of creative meeting spaces, each one designed to adapt, so the room always suits the work rather than the other way round.
It's a philosophy that belongs naturally here. Bloomsbury has long been shaped not only by its cultural institutions, but by the smaller houses, publishers, studios and meeting places where people gathered to exchange ideas. 22JS continues that tradition in a contemporary form.

22JS was founded by Samuel Normington, drawing on a background in theatre, writing and hosting. Having worked in the building for eight years he saw the opportunity to transform the space and its heritage into a place where people could share ideas and produce their best work.
What We Believe
Where you work shapes how you work, so every visit is treated with the care and attention of good hospitality, with individuals welcomed personally and rooms arranged to suit the occasion.
A space that can only do one thing does less for the people using it. Every room at 22JS is built to change purpose as the day requires.
A neighbourhood built on exchange, gathering and ideas, 22JS simply continues a tradition that was already here.
